Karachi (Commerce Desk): Pakistan has received its second major shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG), as a vessel carrying LNG from Qatar successfully berthed at Port Qasim, Karachi.
According to the Port Qasim Authority Port Qasim Authority, the LNG carrier arrived from Ras Laffan Port in Qatar, bringing 56,573 metric tons of LNG.
The 299-meter-long vessel completed its berthing process at the terminal, officials confirmed.
Authorities stated that the imported LNG will play an important role in meeting the country’s rising gas demand and strengthening the energy sector.
Sources added that the shipment is expected to provide relief to power plants and the industrial sector.
Port officials further said that the LNG transfer process is being carried out in accordance with international safety standards to ensure uninterrupted supply.
