Quetta (Pakistan News) Law enforcement agencies have foiled a major terrorism plot targeting Islamabad and arrested a suspected female suicide bomber from Balochistan.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said that the arrested woman was to be used in a suicide attack in Islamabad, but timely action by security forces successfully thwarted the plan.
He stated that the woman has revealed she was being prepared for a suicide mission. According to him, terrorist organizations lure and coerce women for their agendas.
Sarfaraz Bugti said that the woman was threatened that if she refused to carry out the suicide attack, her father would be killed. He added that using women for terrorism is a shameful act, and militants are targeting young girls to please their foreign handlers.
The arrested woman reportedly stated that her cousin pressured her to work for a group (BLA), threatening to kill her father if she refused. She said she initially performed small tasks such as mobile recharges and baking bread, later realizing these activities were linked to an organization.
She further said she was mentally indoctrinated and prepared for a suicide attack, but was later taken into custody by police, who treated her well.
