Washington (Monitoring Desk) The US President has said that he is not in a hurry to reach any agreement with Iran and instead wants a long-term and durable deal that can last for an extended period.
According to him, in the event of an agreement, the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened.
Speaking to the media at the White House, he claimed full control over the Strait of Hormuz and said that the United States is ready to reopen this key waterway.
He stated that Iran is being given an opportunity for a better deal and that once an agreement is finalized, the situation will return to normal.
The US President said that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz is affecting Iran’s economy and disrupting business activities there. According to him, the United States is continuing talks with Iran.
He further claimed that significant targets inside Iran have already been achieved and although Iran may have attempted to rebuild its military capabilities during the ceasefire, the US military retains full capacity for renewed action.
Trump made it clear that the United States will not use nuclear weapons under any circumstances and that he seeks a long-term peace agreement with Iran. He also noted that energy prices may rise in the short term but are expected to decline later.
