Lahore (Sports Desk) A West Indies Championship match between Leeward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago has been abandoned due to a dangerous pitch.
The match, being played at Vivian Richards Stadium, was stopped during the first session of the third day when the pitch became unexpectedly and unevenly bouncy, raising serious concerns over player safety.
During the match, Leeward Islands batter Jeremiah Louis was hit hard by a delivery from Jayden Seales and was immediately given medical treatment before being taken to hospital. He later underwent a medical examination and concussion test, and his condition is now reported to be stable.
According to Cricket West Indies, all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the pitch is safe and up to standard before the next match at the venue.
