Egyptian and French Presidents Meet in Cairo, Discuss Middle East Situation

Cairo (Monitoring Desk) Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Emmanuel Macron held an important meeting in Cairo, during which they discussed in detail the current situation in the Middle East.

According to international media reports, both leaders also reviewed rising tensions between Iran and the United States as well as the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting took place in New Alamein City, north of Cairo, on the sidelines of an event marking the inauguration of the new headquarters of the international Francophone university Senghor University.

During the meeting, President el-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions, warning that further instability could pose serious risks to the region, with potential impacts on the global economy, trade activities, supply chains, and transport systems.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s stance on the security and stability of Arab countries and rejected any interference in the sovereignty or natural resources of any state.

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed hope that ongoing crises in the Middle East would soon find a peaceful resolution, leading to the restoration of peace and stability in the region.

Both leaders also discussed the situation in Lebanon and agreed on the importance of maintaining peace and stability there. They further explored opportunities to enhance cooperation among Mediterranean countries.
