Iran Rejects US Demands, Warns of Strong Response in Case of War

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei has said that unreasonable American demands will not be accepted under any circumstances, and if war is imposed on Iran, a strong response will be given, although diplomatic channels remain open.

During a press briefing, Esmail Baghaei stated that Iran places its national security and public interests above everything else, and will utilize diplomacy wherever an opportunity exists.

He said that the demands presented by the United States are unreasonable; however, Iran has sent a balanced response to the American proposal to Washington via Pakistan.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Pakistan is playing a professional mediating role in this process, while Iran has adopted a diplomatic approach keeping regional stability in view.

The spokesperson said Iran has also informed China that US actions could create serious instability and security challenges in the region.

He added that Iran has presented a fair and responsible proposal to the US for ending the conflict, lifting sanctions, and restoring maritime routes including the Strait of Hormuz.

Baghaei further stated that Iran’s frozen assets have been illegally blocked under US pressure, and their release is also part of its demands.

He warned European countries to avoid any interference in the Strait of Hormuz and not to become part of US and Israeli pressure, adding that war is not only immoral but also illegal.

The spokesperson also noted that any interference in the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf could further escalate tensions and potentially increase global energy prices.

It is worth mentioning that earlier, US President Donald Trump had rejected Iran’s response, calling it unacceptable.
