Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that Iran is continuing its talks with the United States, while at the same time remaining fully prepared to deal with any possible situation amid rising tensions.
In a televised statement, the Iranian parliamentary speaker and head of the negotiating delegation said that Iran does not trust its adversaries and that the situation could worsen at any time. According to him, war or escalation could intensify at any moment.
According to the semi-official Iranian news agency Mehr News Agency, Ghalibaf clarified that Iran is, on one hand, continuing the diplomatic process, while on the other hand taking all necessary steps to ensure national security.
He further stated that negotiations are important in the current situation, but ensuring the country’s defense and security is also essential. His remarks are being seen as an important diplomatic signal in the context of ongoing regional tensions.
Experts say that Iran’s policy of “both negotiations and preparedness” reflects its desire to keep diplomatic channels open while also remaining fully prepared for any possible confrontation.
