Islamabad hiking trails closed, official notification issued

Islamabad (Pakistan News): The district administration has decided to close several hiking trails in the federal capital and has issued an official notification in this regard.

According to the notification, Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4, Trail 5, and the trail located behind Saidpur Village will remain closed to the public from 20 April 2026 until further notice.

Authorities said the decision to close the hiking trails was taken in the public interest and due to administrative reasons. The notification clearly states that during the closure period, all types of public activities in these areas will be strictly prohibited.

The district administration has issued instructions to relevant departments to ensure implementation, including the Chief Commissioner’s Office, Islamabad Police, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Ministry of Interior, and PEMRA. Media outlets have also been directed to increase public awareness regarding the matter.

Officials have appealed to citizens to fully comply with the orders and avoid visiting these areas during the closure period, while special security and monitoring arrangements are also being put in place.
