Rawalpindi (Pakistan News): According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in District Bannu, killing two terrorists.
ISPR stated that during the operation carried out on 19 April 2026, an intense exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists, resulting in the killing of two high-value militants linked to the alleged Indian-sponsored network “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
The statement added that among those killed were a suspected ring leader, Waheedullah alias Mukhtar, and a suicide bomber. Both were involved in multiple serious attacks and had played a role in assaults on security forces and civilians.
According to ISPR, a suicide jacket, weapons, and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the terrorists. The killed ring leader was a highly wanted militant and had been involved in planning several terrorist attacks in the past.
The military’s media wing said the operation was conducted in response to attacks on security forces, and a clearance operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements.
ISPR further stated that counter-terrorism operations will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country, and operations under the national campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam” will remain ongoing.
