Islamabad (Pakistan News) A high security alert has been imposed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to the prevailing security situation, with contingents of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Islamabad Police, and Punjab Police deployed in key areas.
According to the administration, the Red Zone of the federal capital has been completely closed for all types of traffic, while citizens have been instructed to follow alternative traffic plans.
Entry of heavy traffic into the capital has also been banned, and the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service has been completely suspended. Roads at Faizabad, Pirwadhai, and 26 Number Chungi in Rawalpindi have also been sealed.
Due to the situation, government employees have been instructed to work from home, while teaching activities in both public and private universities have been shifted online.
All ministries, divisions, and federal institutions located in the Red Zone are also operating under a work-from-home arrangement today.
Furthermore, judicial proceedings in the Federal Constitutional Court have been suspended, and the cause list for 21 April has been cancelled. The Islamabad High Court has also been decided to remain closed for the day.
