LAHORE (Pakistan News): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that she will send a legal defamation notice to Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
Addressing a ceremony for the Honhaar Scholarship Programme and distribution of laptops among students, Maryam Nawaz said Chaudhry Salik was a federal minister and should present evidence instead of making allegations. She said that if he had evidence, he should bring it forward; otherwise, she would hold him accountable in court.
The Punjab chief minister said that the condition in which Pervez Elahi had left Gujrat city was such that even his vehicle had become submerged in rainwater there. She said he was upset because she had transferred the deputy commissioner of Gujrat. According to her, those who had been waiting for her downfall were now spreading propaganda after witnessing development projects.
Maryam Nawaz said that just as people keep their homes clean, they should also take care of the cleanliness of the country and its cities. She added that taking up arms against the country should never be an option.
She further said that the matter was not about corruption and that the federal minister should present evidence instead of making allegations. She said individuals who secure positions through recommendations cause harm to the country and its people.
