Port of Spain (Sports Desk): Pakistani batter Abdullah Shafique, who was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance against the West Indies, said that he had been working continuously for his return to the team.
Abdullah Shafique said that fortunately he got the opportunity and felt as if he was playing his first Test match. He added that performing well in his comeback Test was a moment of great happiness for him.
He said that Pakistan’s batting performance in the previous three or four Test matches had not been up to expectations; however, the batting improved in this match.
Abdullah Shafique stated that his partnership with Babar Azam in the first innings proved to be very important.
