Rana Sanaullah Says Maulana Fazlur Rehman Never Sought Governorship

Islamabad (Pakistan News): Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has never demanded governorship or any other position from the government.

In his statement, Rana Sanaullah said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s cooperation should be sought in the fight against terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said he could not comment on whether Maulana Fazlur Rehman had held any talks with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

He said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had never approached him with any demand regarding governorship or any other matter. In his view, the issues concerning the notices issued could also be resolved.

The Prime Minister’s adviser criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sohail Afridi, saying that he used to claim he would sacrifice his life out of love for the PTI founder, but on the other hand, he himself held meetings with Mohsin Naqvi.

According to Rana Sanaullah, restrictions on meetings with the PTI founder were imposed because messages were being conveyed during the meetings and political narratives were being developed. He said they had repeatedly been advised to refrain from such campaigns and criticism on social media, but they did not comply, following which the meetings had to be suspended.
