Lahore (Sports Desk) – The participation of Pakistani cricketers in the Abu Dhabi T10 League has become uncertain due to an additional fee imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a condition for issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to players.
According to a report by renowned cricket website ESPNcricinfo, the Pakistan Cricket Board has demanded $10,000 for issuing an NOC to each Pakistani player participating in the league, creating difficulties for the league management and franchises.
According to the report, the league management had submitted applications for NOCs for Pakistani cricketers immediately after the players' selection on September 30. However, the PCB imposed the additional fee condition just days before the tournament was scheduled to begin.
During the player selection process, 16 Pakistani cricketers were picked by five of the six participating teams. Due to the current situation, franchises are considering either paying the additional amount or finding replacement players.
Reports suggest that some Pakistani players were even willing to pay the amount from their own salaries.
The selected cricketers include Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jr., among others.
It is worth mentioning that last month, the PCB had also imposed a fee of $25,000 per Pakistani player for participation in the Nepal Premier League, due to which several cricketers were unable to take part in the event.
