Washington (Monitoring Desk) — US Vice President JD Vance has strongly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the Iran issue, saying that he was wrong on every aspect of the matter.
According to a recent report by the US news website Axios, JD Vance had urged US President Donald Trump to prioritize diplomacy instead of resuming military operations against Iran and to seek an agreement with Tehran to end the conflict.
Citing sources, the report stated that President Trump’s close circle, led by JD Vance, had warned him that a war against Iran was unpopular among the American public and could cause significant political losses for the Republican Party in the midterm elections.
The Vice President had also warned that resuming military operations could have negative political consequences.
According to US media reports, despite internal opposition, President Trump had considered restarting the war against Iran, largely due to continued pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. However, the decision was ultimately put on hold.
Media reports have also revealed that President Trump openly supported Netanyahu in the Israeli elections, ignoring serious reservations expressed by his senior advisers.
