Islamabad (Pakistan News) — Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry has said that Afghan soil is being used for terrorism in Pakistan, while an organized network of terrorism and crime is also active in the country.
Addressing a press conference, Talal Chaudhry said the network supports terrorist activities through various crimes, including smuggling, drugs, illegal petroleum products and the supply of weapons. According to him, the government considers these activities not merely business but crimes linked to terrorism.
Referring to the banning of a political party in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he said several questions had also been raised at the time, including whether the action was politically motivated. However, he said the party was responsibly banned on the basis of available evidence, and investigations are ongoing.
He said questions had also been raised about some audios emerging on social media, including whether they had been created or altered using artificial intelligence. However, he said evidence and investigations must be taken into account to determine the truth.
Talal Chaudhry said the government has evidence to take action against terrorism and its support networks. Therefore, instead of giving these matters a political color, they should be viewed in light of facts and investigations.
The minister claimed that a man named Zia in Azad Jammu and Kashmir had been involved in supplying weapons to various individuals for the past eight to 10 years, while for the last two years, he had been directly supplying weapons to members of a specific group.
He said further action in the matter is underway on the basis of evidence uncovered during the investigation.
