Kabul (Monitoring Desk) — The Afghanistan United Front, a resistance group in Afghanistan, has announced the launch of armed operations against the Taliban government.
Former Afghan General and head of the Afghanistan United Front, Sami Sadat, said in a video statement that permission has been granted to begin operations against the Taliban and the first phase of military actions has started.
According to General Sami Sadat, operations will be carried out targeting Taliban members, centers, and leadership. In a statement issued while wearing an Afghan military uniform, he said his group would also continue its struggle against Al-Qaeda, Daesh, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, and other armed organizations besides the Taliban.
He said that nearly five years have passed since the Taliban came to power, and it has now become clear that efforts to resolve the issue through negotiations have failed.
Sami Sadat appealed to Afghan citizens inside the country and those living abroad to unite and become part of efforts to free Afghanistan from Taliban control.
