ISLAMABAD (Pakistan News) – The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has issued a revised election schedule for the upcoming polls, according to which voting will be held on 27 July.
As per the official notification, the last date for submitting nomination papers has been set as 23 June, while scrutiny of nominations will begin on 24 June at 8:00 AM. On the same day, a preliminary list of valid candidates will also be issued.
According to the schedule, appeals against the decisions of returning officers can be filed from 25 to 28 June, while hearings on these appeals will be held on 29 and 30 June. Decisions on the appeals will be announced on 1 and 2 July.
The notification states that the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is 3 July until 2:00 PM, while the final list of candidates will be issued on 4 July.
Election symbols will be allotted on 5 July, and the final list of candidates will also be published on the same day.
The Election Commission said that candidates from Poonch (Rawalakot) will submit their nomination papers to the concerned returning officers, where their scrutiny will also be conducted.
The Commission added that the revised schedule has been issued keeping in view candidate requests and public convenience, and all candidates have been directed to submit their papers within the stipulated time.
