AJK Elections: PML-N Takes Lead with Victory on 14 Seats

Muzaffarabad (Pakistan Khabar): In the unofficial and non-final results of the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, Pakistan Muslim League (N) has taken a clear lead, while Pakistan Peoples Party has also managed to win five seats.

In the second phase, polling was held in eight constituencies of Muzaffarabad Division and 12 seats reserved for refugees. Results of 19 out of 20 constituencies have been announced so far, according to which PML-N won 14 seats while PPP secured five seats. Polling in one constituency was postponed due to bad weather and landslides.

In constituency LA-27, elections could not be held at all 196 polling stations because the election staff and polling material did not arrive on time.

According to unofficial results, in LA-25 Neelum Valley-I, PML-N’s Shah Ghulam Qadir won with 18,925 votes, while PPP’s Mian Abdul Waheed remained runner-up with 13,596 votes.

In LA-26 Neelum Valley-II, PPP’s Mian Abdul Waheed secured victory with 17,466 votes, while PML-N’s Shah Ghulam Qadir came second with 15,494 votes.

In Muzaffarabad constituency LA-29, PPP’s Sardar Mukhtar Khan won with 19,792 votes, while PML-N’s Barrister Iftikhar Ali Gilani secured the second position with 16,413 votes.

In other constituencies, PML-N candidates Mustafa Bashir Abbasi, Saqib Majeed Raja, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider, Nasir Hussain Dar, Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Ahsan Raza, Maryam Javed, Zeeshan Ali, Raja Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Amir Shah, Syed Shaukat Ali Shah, Muhammad Yaseen Loon and Muhammad Ahmed Raza Qadri were declared successful.

PPP candidates Diwan Ali Khan Qamar Chughtai, Amir Abdul Ghaffar and Abdul Majid Khan also won seats in different constituencies.

According to the election results, PML-N secured a strong position in several constituencies, including refugee seats. However, the complete picture of the results will become clear only after the final official announcement.
