New Delhi (Monitoring Desk) The death toll from severe floods in India’s Assam state has risen to 82.
According to the Assam Disaster Management Authority, relief camps, distribution centers for supplies, and rehabilitation activities are ongoing to assist affected families, while the situation is gradually improving.
Officials said that more than 1.1 million people have been affected by the floods in the state.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a complete assessment of the damages will be carried out and discussions will also be held with insurance companies to reduce the losses of affected people.
