Fazlur Rehman Takes a Dig at Khawaja Asif Using His Famous Phrase

Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar): During a National Assembly session, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticised Defence Minister Khawaja Asif by repeating his famous phrase, “Have some shame, have some decency.”

Addressing the session, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said defence agreements were being made in Iran while the defence minister was sitting there in the assembly, asking whether this, too, was the responsibility of the Interior Ministry. Addressing Khawaja Asif directly, he said the minister should be mindful of his dignity and standing.

Raising questions about national affairs and the responsibilities of ministers, Maulana Fazlur Rehman urged both the government and the opposition to sit together and formulate a “new charter of democracy.”

It is worth noting that Khawaja Asif had previously used the same phrase in the National Assembly while criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members. The phrase later became a popular meme on social media. This time, social media users also took notice when Maulana Fazlur Rehman used it against Khawaja Asif, who was present in the assembly at the time.
