Peshawar (Commerce Desk) — Prices of various daily-use food items have increased in Peshawar, forcing citizens to face additional expenses.
According to shopkeepers, the price of rice has increased from Rs360 to Rs380 per kilogram, while lentils have risen from Rs240 to Rs260 per kilogram.
Kidney beans are being sold at Rs500 per kilogram instead of Rs460, while the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour has increased from Rs2,800 to Rs3,300. Sugar has also risen from Rs140 to Rs150 per kilogram.
A shopkeeper said tomatoes have increased from Rs200 to Rs250 and potatoes from Rs80 to Rs100 per kilogram, while the price of a dozen bananas has risen by Rs50 to Rs200.
Apples have increased by Rs50 to Rs400 per kilogram, while grapes have become Rs100 more expensive and are being sold at Rs600 per kilogram.
The price of peaches has also increased from Rs300 to Rs400 per kilogram.
