Gilgit-Baltistan Elections: Final Results of 3 Diamer Constituencies Announced, Independent Candidates Join Governing Party

Gilgit (Pakistan News): The final official results of three constituencies in Diamer under the general elections for the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly have been announced.

According to the Returning Officer, in GBLA-15 Chilas, independent candidate Muhammad Dilpazeer secured 5,962 votes and was declared successful. In GBLA-17, Muhammad Naseem of the Pakistan Peoples Party won with 8,954 votes, while in GBLA-18 Tangir, Kifayat-ur-Rehman of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) secured victory with 6,081 votes.

Following the elections, several independent candidates joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party. Reports say the independents announced their decision to join the party during a meeting with Federal Minister Aleem Khan.

Those who joined include Anwar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Muhammad Dilpazeer, and Aman Ali.

According to overall results, the Pakistan Peoples Party won 10 seats, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) secured 5, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party won 4, independent candidates took 2, and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen secured 1 seat, while results of two constituencies are still pending.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed hope that his party will succeed in forming the government in Gilgit-Baltistan.
