Lahore (Showbiz Desk): Hina Pervaiz Butt, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, has invited actress Hina Altaf to visit Lahore after she described Karachi as a prison for girls.
A few days ago, Hina Altaf recorded a video while walking along the streets of London. In the video, she said she wanted to enjoy one last breakfast in London before returning to Karachi, because afterwards she would once again be confined to the “prison of Karachi”. She said girls in Karachi could not live freely and that even walking on the streets was difficult.
Responding to the remarks in a video message, Hina Pervaiz Butt said she had watched the actress’s video, which highlighted the safety challenges faced by women in Karachi.
Inviting Hina Altaf to Lahore, Hina Pervaiz Butt said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, women’s protection was among the government’s top priorities. She said the government was committed to providing an environment where women could move around freely and confidently, without fear or harassment.
She claimed that women feel safer in Lahore than in London, adding that no woman can be subjected to violence or harassment in the city.
