Sanaa (Monitoring Desk) — Houthi rebels in Yemen have taken control of the Red Sea coastal city of Mokha, giving them an opportunity to expand their advance near the key maritime passage of Bab al-Mandab.
According to Reuters, three sources in the Yemeni government confirmed that the Houthis had seized control of Mokha.
Control of Mokha, located near Bab al-Mandab, could provide the Houthis with a significant strategic advantage along the Red Sea coast.
