Washington (Monitoring Desk) — During Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United States, hundreds of people held a protest demonstration in Washington, D.C., demanding that the US government enforce the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.
According to international media reports, despite heavy rain, protesters carrying Palestinian flags and various banners continued marching toward the White House. Strict security arrangements were made during the protest, with a large number of police personnel deployed.
Reports stated that a group of protesters also entered the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown, where Benjamin Netanyahu was attending a dinner. The protesters attempted to reach the restaurant inside the hotel; however, security personnel stopped them and removed them from the building.
During the protest, demonstrators also chanted various slogans against the Israeli prime minister, including criticism of his wartime actions. Videos of the protest continued to circulate widely on social media.
