Lahore (Sports Desk) Pakistan’s experienced fast bowler Mohammad Amir has named Indian star batter Virat Kohli as the toughest opponent of his career and praised his abilities extensively.
In an interview with Wisden, Mohammad Amir said that in the current era there is no match for Virat Kohli. He said Kohli’s consistency, ability to perform under pressure, and match-winning skills make him different from other batters.
He said that he has repeatedly expressed that among the current generation, Virat Kohli is the batter against whom bowling has been the most challenging.
Mohammad Amir said that Kohli always delivers his best performances in major competitions, which is why he is considered among the greatest batters of modern cricket.
He also described former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and all-rounder Shane Watson as tough opponents; however, according to him, Virat Kohli stands out the most among current players.
It is worth mentioning that Mohammad Amir and Virat Kohli have had several memorable encounters. In the 2017 Champions Trophy final, Amir dismissed Kohli early, while Kohli has also played several important innings against Pakistan, helping India secure victories.
