KARACHI (Commerce Desk): The number of investors in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reached an all-time high, rising to a total of 681,965. Young people make up the majority of the new investors.
According to Federal Adviser on Economic and Financial Reforms Khurram Shehzad, the number of stock market investors has increased by 56 per cent year-on-year, while the trend of new participants entering the financial sector is also gaining momentum.
He said a record 25,747 new investors entered the stock market in October 2026, 66 per cent more than in the same month last year.
Khurram Shehzad stated that 218,894 new investors joined the stock market during the first 10 months of 2026, exceeding the total increase recorded over the previous four years.
He said 85 per cent of the new investors belong to Generation Z and millennials, reflecting growing interest among young people in investment and the stock market.
The federal adviser added that the increase in the number of investors reflected the positive impact of the government's economic policies and financial reforms.
