Lahore (Sports Desk): Pakistan women’s cricket team faced another setback on their tour of Sri Lanka, losing the T20 series after suffering defeat in the ODI series as well.
The national team, which had defeated the Netherlands in the ICC T20 World Cup, lost the three-match ODI series 2-1 under the captaincy of Fatima Sana, while Pakistan also suffered a 2-1 defeat in the T20 series played under the leadership of Muneeba Ali.
In the final T20 match of the series played in Dambulla, Pakistan women’s team restricted Sri Lanka to 113 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs after the hosts batted first.
In reply, Pakistan chased the target by scoring 115 runs for the loss of 6 wickets on the second ball of the 19th over and won the match by 4 wickets. However, this victory could not change the overall result of the series, as Sri Lanka won the T20 series 2-1.
