Dubai (Pakistan Desk) A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-212 traveling from Dubai to Islamabad faced a disturbance due to operational delays and security issues, after which several passengers were taken into custody.
According to sources, due to the current situation in the region, Dubai Airport authorities had imposed a 10-minute gap between flight departures, causing flight PK-212 to remain delayed for around three and a half hours despite being ready for departure.
During the delay, passengers were provided meals inside the aircraft. However, later some passengers created disorder and attempted to enter the cockpit. The crew took timely action and stopped them, but an agitated passenger also broke an aircraft window.
As the situation worsened, Dubai security officials were called, who opened the aircraft door and detained the passengers involved in the disturbance.
Following the incident, the aircraft was grounded, while other passengers and crew members were shifted to a hotel.
According to the national airline’s spokesperson, flight PK-212 will depart from Dubai for Islamabad tonight at 11:15 pm.
