Berlin (Monitoring Desk) — A small plane crashed near the Dutch border in Germany, killing three Dutch nationals.
According to international media, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the accident, saying the victims included two men aged 57 and 58 and a 23-year-old woman.
According to the ministry, the plane took off at 10:25 a.m. local time from a small airport in Hilversum, a city in the central-western Netherlands.
At around 11:18 a.m., the plane lost radar contact near Gerderath in the Erkelenz area of Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia state. It crashed shortly afterward.
Officials said all three victims were the only people aboard the plane, which was registered with a flight school in Hilversum, Netherlands.
The flight school administration immediately suspended all flights until the cause of the crash is determined. The Dutch Safety Board has also sent two aviation accident experts to Germany to assist with the initial investigation.
