Trump Rejects AI Concerns in Call With Nvidia CEO

Washington (Monitoring Desk) — US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang during a technology conference underway in Los Angeles.

During the conversation, Trump dismissed growing concerns about artificial intelligence, calling them “false propaganda,” and opposed efforts to limit the pace of AI development.

The US president warned that imposing unnecessary restrictions could cause the United States to fall behind China in the global artificial intelligence race.

Trump said that opposing efforts to slow the rapid progress of AI was actually in the interest of those who do not want the technology to advance. According to him, China could also be among such political elements.

Meanwhile, Jensen Huang also described some predictions about extremely dangerous consequences of artificial intelligence as unscientific. He said it was necessary to take safety concerns seriously, but they should not be used as a justification for halting technological development.
