Rawalpindi (Pakistan Khabar) — On the tenth day of the September 1965 war, Pakistani forces launched a strong counterattack, forcing the Indian Army to retreat from the Kasur sector.
As a result of the Pakistan Army’s intense assault, Indian forces attempting to advance from Jammu toward Sialkot suffered heavy casualties and significant military losses. After the Pakistan Air Force targeted the naval and air bases at Dwarka and Jamnagar, the Indian Navy was deeply angered by the failure of its air force.
Near the Lahore sector, Pakistani forces also shot down two Indian fighter aircraft using small arms fire.
On the Sialkot front, another seven Indian Centurion tanks were destroyed, bringing the total number of Indian tanks destroyed in the sector to 42.
In the Dras sector, the Mujahideen destroyed strong Indian military positions at Maralabad. Due to the Pakistan Navy’s superiority in the Arabian Sea, the Indian Navy was forced to restrict its activities.
Pakistani fighter aircraft also intercepted and shot down an aircraft over Lahore that had come to assist the Indian Army.
During the September war, the Pakistan Army continued to inflict heavy losses on Indian forces across various fronts.
