Tri-Series: Haris Rauf Advised Shadab Khan to Review Decision

Lahore (Sports Desk): Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan made history in ODI cricket with a brilliant innings against England, scoring an unbeaten 113 off 96 balls while batting at number eight. He also shared a record-breaking 89-run partnership for the final wicket with Haris Rauf, guiding Pakistan to a thrilling one-wicket victory.

At a crucial stage of the match, Pakistan needed 21 runs to win when Shadab was given out LBW off a yorker from Gus Atkinson. However, after a review, UltraEdge showed a faint contact between the ball and the bat, and Shadab was declared not out.

Interestingly, neither Shadab nor Haris Rauf, who was at the non-striker’s end, had realised that the ball had touched the bat. Both had begun walking away in disappointment. At that moment, Haris advised Shadab to take a review, which proved to be a decisive turning point in the match.

Haris Rauf also played an important role, scoring an unbeaten seven off 19 balls and keeping his wicket intact while supporting Shadab at the other end.
