Afghanistan Faces Severe Humanitarian Crisis, Half the Population in Need of Aid: Report

Kabul (Monitoring Desk): Afghanistan is facing worsening living conditions due to an ongoing economic crisis, poverty, and food insecurity, with civil life becoming increasingly difficult.

According to various sources, the country’s political, economic, and humanitarian challenges continue to grow, further deepening the crisis.

A recent report by the Norwegian Refugee Council states that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated significantly. It estimates that nearly half of the country’s population is in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, while 4 million children are suffering from malnutrition.

The report highlights that rising economic hardships and a lack of basic services have pushed millions into severe difficulties.

It further notes that more than 400 health centers have been closed in Afghanistan, leaving a large number of people without access to essential medical care and treatment.

According to the report, restrictions imposed on women have also deeply affected the social system, leaving a significant portion of society effectively excluded from active participation.

Experts say that due to a fragile economic structure and ongoing instability, the Afghan population is increasingly dependent on international aid. The continued political and economic uncertainty is further intensifying the humanitarian crisis.
