California (Web Desk) — The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has opened new avenues in the technology sector, but debate over its potential harms and risks is also intensifying.
Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Kosin has resigned from his position, alleging that Anthropic and its rival OpenAI are taking extremely serious risks to human life in the development of AI.
Jacob Kosin, who worked as a researcher at both companies, said in a post on the social media platform X that he resigned because of concerns that companies developing artificial intelligence were putting human lives at risk.
According to him, some people associated with the AI sector seriously believe that artificial intelligence could cause the extinction of humanity by the end of this decade.
Jacob Kosin warned that underestimating the capabilities of artificial intelligence would be dangerous. He said future AI systems could surpass human capabilities, develop the ability to carry out cyberattacks, bring about exceptionally rapid changes across various sectors, and gain access to power and resources in the real world.
