New Delhi (Showbiz Desk) Renowned Indian playback singer Suman Kalyanpur has passed away at the age of 89.
According to Indian media reports, she died on Sunday evening at her residence in Mumbai due to age-related illnesses.
Suman Kalyanpur gained immense popularity in the 1960s and 1970s for her melodious and soothing voice. Her famous songs include “Na Na Karte Pyar Tumhi Se Kar Baithe,” “Tumne Pukara Aur Hum Chale Aaye,” and “Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche.”
She also sang in several regional languages including Marathi, Assamese, Kannada, Bengali, and Odia. In addition, she earned recognition for her performances in bhajans, ghazals, and thumri styles.
According to close sources, Suman Kalyanpur spent her final days listening to her own songs. Her close friend and biographer Mangala said that she remained connected to her musical legacy until her last moments.
Her passing has been widely mourned in India’s music industry, with deep sorrow and condolences being expressed.
