Tel Aviv (Showbiz Desk) — A major controversy has erupted in Israel after the Israeli documentary film “Naza,” made about the Gaza war, received an award at the Venice Film Festival.
The film was criticized, with its recognition at the Venice Film Festival described as surprising. Critics alleged that the filmmakers harmed their own country to gain international acclaim and called their actions treason against the state.
The Israeli Minister of Culture said that, as minister, he would immediately take steps to revoke the citizenship of both filmmakers.
However, according to the report, the filmmakers’ citizenship has not yet been revoked; rather, the minister has announced that he will initiate the process.
The documentary presents serious allegations regarding Israeli military operations and the deaths of civilians. The film also includes interviews with individuals associated with the Israeli military and raises questions about how potential civilian casualties during military operations were considered acceptable.
