Islamabad (Pakistan News): Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah has said that governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain in place until its objectives are achieved, while no formal negotiations are currently underway with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking to Geo News, Rana Sanaullah said that backchannel contacts with PTI continue to take place; however, no formal negotiation process is currently underway. He stated that governor’s rule would remain in force until its predetermined objectives were fulfilled.
He said that the menace of terrorism was spreading in the country with the support of India and Afghanistan, and addressing this threat was extremely important. All stakeholders would be taken into confidence in the war against terrorism, but there was no alternative to achieving success in this fight.
Regarding Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s disagreement with governor’s rule, the Prime Minister’s Adviser said that he had every right to hold a different opinion and that the government did not want confrontation with him. He said this was not a conflict but merely a political disagreement. Just as the government had the right to disagree with the position of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman was equally entitled to express his views.
Commenting on Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain’s statement regarding corruption in Punjab, Rana Sanaullah said that such allegations should not be made in the absence of evidence. He added that Chaudhry Salik Hussain himself had acknowledged that he had no evidence to support his allegations.
