Washington (Monitoring Desk): US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has strongly reacted to the ongoing war against Iran and efforts to impeach him, describing them as political revenge.
In a video message posted on the social media platform X, Pete Hegseth said that the primary objective of the war against Iran was to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons.
He expressed his determination that, just as previous impeachment attempts against President Donald Trump had failed, the efforts being made against him would also prove unsuccessful.
The US Defense Secretary criticised political opponents from the Democratic Party and within government circles, saying they hated him because he had systematically dismantled their preferred ideologies and policies.
He said that Democrats and state extremists were angry with him because he had eliminated their ideologies without offering any apologies.
Pete Hegseth further stated that the policy of diversity, equity and inclusion was a Marxist ideology aimed at destroying society, which was why his administration had abolished it.
