California (Web Desk): Former American NASA astronaut Winston Scott has claimed that intelligent beings may exist elsewhere in the universe besides humans, although he made no definitive statement about whether extraterrestrial beings have visited Earth.
According to foreign media reports, Winston Scott, who took part in 2 space missions during the 1990s, said in a television interview that he was convinced life existed somewhere in the universe.
He said there were billions of planets in the universe, and conditions similar to those on Earth might have developed on some of them, allowing life to emerge. According to him, it was unlikely that Earth was the only home of intelligent life in the entire universe.
The former astronaut clarified that the existence of life in the universe and the possibility of extraterrestrial beings visiting Earth were 2 separate matters.
His remarks come at a time when the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has released new classified documents concerning unidentified flying objects. The documents also include claims about mysterious beings and the monitoring of an unidentified aerial object in the United States.
It is worth noting that no credible scientific evidence of extraterrestrial life has emerged so far, and Winston Scott’s statement reflects his personal opinion.
