Renewed US-Iran War Could Be More Destructive, Egypt Warns

Cairo (Monitoring Desk): Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has warned that a renewed escalation in the war between the United States and Iran could have even more devastating consequences than before, potentially exposing the entire region to serious repercussions.

According to Reuters, Badr Abdelatty made the remarks while addressing the Manama Dialogue Security Summit organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Bahrain. He said he was extremely concerned about the possibility of a new round of escalation in the war.

The Egyptian foreign minister said that if military confrontation between the United States and Iran intensified again, its consequences could be far-reaching and extremely destructive.

His statement comes at a time when tensions and diplomatic efforts between the two countries are influencing the situation in the Middle East.

Countries across the region fear that renewed fighting could affect security, economies, energy supplies and regional stability. Badr Abdelatty did not provide details of any possible new military operation but expressed concern over the devastating consequences of further expansion of the war.
