Ishaq Dar, Hakan Fidan Discuss Palestine, Reaffirm Common Stance

Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar) — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar spoke by telephone with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during which bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest were discussed.

According to the Foreign Office, the two foreign ministers reaffirmed their common stance on the issue of Palestine and supported a joint statement issued by eight Arab and Islamic countries. The statement welcomed the United Kingdom’s decision to ban imports from illegal Israeli settlements and services linked to them.

The two leaders also supported a joint statement by the UK and other European countries regarding the two-state solution.

On the occasion, they stressed the importance of continued close consultation on regional issues under the regional four-country forum (R4) with Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Ishaq Dar and Hakan Fidan also agreed to meet in New York on the sidelines of the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.
