Lahore (Commerce Desk): Prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have surged beyond Rs. 500 per kilogram, making it increasingly difficult for households to afford cooking gas.
According to shopkeepers, LPG is being sold in various parts of the city between Rs. 500 and Rs. 510 per kg, while they are receiving supply at rates ranging from Rs. 480 to Rs. 490 per kg.
They stated that the official price is around Rs. 304 per kg, making it impossible to sell at that rate under current conditions. Retailers have accused marketing companies of supplying LPG at inflated prices, leading to the sharp increase.
On the other hand, citizens have alleged that a cartel has artificially raised prices to earn excessive profits. They have urged the government to take immediate action against oil marketing companies and ensure strict measures to bring prices under control.
