New York (Monitoring Desk): New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has said he is always willing to meet President Donald Trump, as dialogue is necessary if such meetings benefit the people of New York.
According to US media, despite political differences and public criticism of each other, Mamdani and Trump have had cordial face-to-face meetings.
In an interview with a US broadcaster, Zohran Mamdani said that despite disagreements, it is important to communicate with each other in the public interest. He said that if he only spoke to people who agreed with him on every issue, it would be like sitting at home and talking to a mirror.
Mamdani also disagreed with Trump’s move to impose restrictions on the media. According to media reports, Mamdani’s aides said the meetings with Trump had been positive, but the mayor did not compromise on his political position.
