Islamabad (Web Desk) Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has indicated necessary amendments in the Pakistan Telecommunication Re-Organization Amendment Bill 2026, saying that ambiguities and unclear provisions in the bill will be addressed.
Speaking on a private TV program, she said that certain terms and clauses in the proposed law require clarification, and therefore appropriate amendments will be introduced to ensure no confusion remains.
According to the Federal Minister, there is confusion regarding clauses related to the installation of above-ground telecommunications infrastructure, which is being resolved through practical steps.
Clarifying concerns about fines of up to Rs 50 million, she said that such penalties would only be imposed in cases where agreements made through mutual consent between landowners and relevant parties are violated.
