Karachi (Commerce Desk) The Sindh government is considering presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the Sindh Assembly next week.
According to sources, the dates of 16 and 17 June are under consideration for the budget presentation. The government stated that due to the conditions of international financial institutions and implementation of the National Finance Agreement, there was some delay in the budget preparation; however, efforts are being made to ensure that the budget is approved before Ashura.
As per rules and regulations, at least five days of debate on the budget are mandatory in the Sindh Assembly before its approval.
Sources further said that Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has presented the budget ten times so far, and he will present the budget this year as well. In addition, a reduction of up to 24% in the development budget is being expected compared to the current fiscal year.
