UK and UAE Hold Key Talks, Agree on Regional Security and Ceasefire

Abu Dhabi (Monitoring Desk): Keir Starmer visited United Arab Emirates, where he met with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the evolving regional situation.

According to Gulf sources, both leaders held detailed discussions on the current Middle East tensions, regional and global security, maritime safety, energy supply, and the broader economic impact.

Reports indicate that recent tensions, the fragile ceasefire phase involving Iran, and the importance of secure navigation through the Strait of Hormuz were key points of discussion, given the route’s critical role in global energy and trade.

According to an official statement, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized that regional crises should be resolved through diplomacy, dialogue, and peaceful means. On the occasion, Keir Starmer expressed the United Kingdom’s solidarity with the UAE, stating that United Kingdom stands with the UAE in safeguarding its security, stability, and sovereignty.

Both leaders also agreed on the need for practical measures to ensure a sustainable ceasefire and to protect key maritime routes.

British sources noted that the purpose of the visit was not only to respond to the immediate crisis but also to advance a broader regional strategy through consultations with allied countries. This reflects that Abu Dhabi and London are addressing current challenges through a coordinated approach encompassing security, trade, energy, and diplomatic relations.
