Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan’s IT and digital sector has witnessed notable progress during the three-year facilitation period of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), according to a report.
The report states that during this period, Pakistan’s IT sector has rapidly expanded, emerging as a growing digital tech hub in the region.
With the support of SIFC, Pakistan has been able to host major global tech events, including ICTC Asia 2026 and Indus AI Week 2026. These initiatives have played an important role in promoting artificial intelligence and digital skills development.
Similarly, the expansion of digital infrastructure has contributed to an increase in exports and has also had a positive impact on foreign exchange reserves.
According to the report, the launch of 5G spectrum services in Pakistan has marked the beginning of a new phase of digital development, improving the country’s communication systems.
It further stated that the Ministry of IT has launched the “AI Seekho 2026” program nationwide to promote digital skills.
During this period, Pakistan’s startup ecosystem has grown significantly, with its total valuation exceeding $4 billion, reflecting strong growth since 2020.
The report concludes that due to SIFC’s strategy, Pakistan’s IT sector is moving forward on stronger foundations toward global standards, investment, and innovation.
