Washington (Monitoring Desk) — The United States and its allies have issued a formal warning to China over allegations of espionage activities.
According to a report by The Washington Post, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have jointly accused China of attempting to collect sensitive information through job-related platforms.
The report states that, according to these countries, China is allegedly using fake profiles and job offers to target individuals and extract important and sensitive data.
The Chinese Embassy in London has strongly rejected the allegations, calling them baseless, fabricated, and malicious.
Experts say the dispute is not limited to espionage claims alone but forms part of the broader strategic competition between the United States and China, involving cyber security, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and regional security.
The U.S. and its allies maintain that China is systematically attempting to acquire sensitive information through cyber and intelligence operations, while China denies all allegations and describes them as political pressure and propaganda.
